Introducing our lunch club, where all are welcome! Over 50, over 60 and over 70!
Here's an opportunity to make new friends, listen to a guest speaker and enjoy a great lunch (with tea and biscuits) in the spectacular surroundings of the Radyr Golf Club - for just £6 per session. The club usually meets on the first and third Wednesday of every month (except August), between 12.00pm and 2pm.
The lunch dates are listed on our events calendar, here.
To date, we have enjoyed talks as varied as the work of GCHQ (part of the UK Government's intelligence and security network), pirates on the South Wales coast, the kitchens of yesteryear, day-to-day life in Uganda - and the inspirational story of how a local resident taught doctors in Nepal how to treat injured patients after the earthquake in 2015.
So, as you can see, we learn about a wide variety of subjects during our after-lunch talks. And - if you can give a talk, or know someone who can, please contact us on the number below.
We are also looking to recruit volunteer drivers and volunteers to help out during the lunch. If you can spare some time to help, or would like to attend the lunch club, please contact Radyr and Morganstown Community Council on: 02920 842213 or clerk@radyr.wales. It's a very rewarding task - which provides an opportunity to help others in our community.
The lunch club is run on behalf of the community by Radyr and Morganstown Community Council. The task of arranging each lunch, organising lifts for elderly resident to and from the golf club, finding guest speakers - and generally keeping the show on the road - is undertaken by our excellent colleague Hashumati Patel. Hash (as she is known) brings great enthusiasm to the task - and provides a friendly face and and helpful advice to all who attend the club.
