On Friday evening, 4 December, Santa visited Radyr and Morganstown in his impressive, colourful sleigh. His visit was thoroughly enjoyed by all who saw him, as he made his way through our streets, playing some lovely festive music. He had time to stop at Station Road, to help the Lord Mayor, Cllr Rod McKerlich - and the Lady Mayoress, Sue McKerlich - with the official ceremony to switch on our Christmas lights. 'Everything went very well' said Santa 'The children were very well behaved - and it made me very happy to see their smiling faces as I passed by, on my way to the North Pole, where I will have a busy couple of weeks making the final preparations for Christmas. I will, of course, return late on Christmas Eve, with presents for all. Even though I'm supposed to be on a diet, I would still appreciate the occasional mince pie and, of course, a carrot for Rudolph, my red-nosed reindeer.' Santa was very grateful to the Community Council for organising his sleigh, the Christmas trees and the Christmas lights. He also thanked the Radyr and Morganstown Association for the trees on the shops on Station Road - and for organising the ceremony. He also thanked Radyr Garage for offering to help deliver the sleigh to Radyr: 'The guys at the garage were excellent' he added 'They offered to transport my sleigh to Radyr, free of charge! I didn't need them to do so in the end, but I did have a problem with the sleigh's Magical Anti-gravity Capacitors, and they replaced them in no time. I would definitely use them again!'
