As readers will know, we've had a NextBike station in Radur for some time now - on Station Road.
Sadly, the service has been suspended, following an extraordinary amount of theft and vandalism of the bikes. Since the bikes were introduced in Cardiff in 2018, 300 bikes have been stolen, with a 160 of those bikes being taken since August last year. 260 bikes have also been scrapped due to vandalism, ranging from bikes being set on fire or snapped in half, to being dumped in rivers. What, exactly, is the world coming to?! In an attempt to tackle the problem, Cardiff Youth Service are working with NextBike to find out why this is happening and what can be done to reduce the thefts and vandalism of the bikes. You can take part in their survey, to help with this work. The survey can be found here.
