 You could win £50 if your house looks like Christmas! Following a difficult year - and with the cancellation of so many Christmas events, Radyr and Morganstown Community Council has decided to bring some festive cheer to our community, by organising a Christmas Competition. On offer is £100 worth of prizes for the houses which our judges decide are the best decorated houses in Radyr and Morganstown. Obviously, this will involve mainly outdoor decorations only! If you would like to enter the competition, simply send up to three photographs of your house to [email protected]. Entries should reach us by 18 December. We will draw up a shortlist of homes, which our judging panel will view 'from the road'. They will do so whilst safely socially distanced - and only if Welsh Government rules in place at the time will allow them to do so. If they are unable to view the houses, we will judge the competion on the basis of the photographs. The winning house will receive a £50 prize; the second best will receive £30 - and the third best will receive £20. The judges will all be members of the Community Council's Christmas Working Group (which has also been busy arranging improvements to our festive street lighting). They judges will be looking for:
With the house owners' consent, we would like to post a picture of the winning houses on our website. As with all competitions, the judges decision will be final! No prizes will be awarded to any of the Council's staff or councillors. We hope this small, fun event, will help us all get into the Christmas spirt! Take care!
