On Saturday 23 April the Cardiff Rivers Group will be at Radyr Weir, in a joint event with Radyr & Morganstown Litter Pickers. They will meet at 9.45am.
They will be removing rubbish from the banks of the Taff upstream and downstream of the weir, and doing a general litter-pick of the Taff Trail and Longwood Drive. If you are concerned about the state of the river (which is often polluted with plastic waste) and its surroundings, you are very welcome to join them to help. You will receive a very warm welcome. Equipment such as gloves, litter-pickers, bags and hoops will be provided. You can read more about the event here. In the meantime our heartfelt thanks go to the Cardiff Rivers Group and Radyr & Morganstown Litter Pickers for the excellent work they do to help keep our community clean and tidy.

That a huge proportion of plastic reaching the sea comes from rivers? By cleaning up plastic at its source in freshwater habitats, we can prevent it from ever reaching the ocean!
