Background
As the Community Plan is developed, we will need to bear in mind the financial and human resources available to the Council.
Most of our income is raised through the precept. This is collected alongside residents' Council Tax contributions. At present, the precept is between £xx and £x (depending on each resident's Council Tax band). Our precept income for 2021/22 is £xx.
It has been held at this level for the past xx years, but our income has increased as more houses are built in Radyr and Morganstown, mainly as a result of the Plasdwr development.
We will continue to review the precept level each year, bearing in mind our reserves. In all cases, we will seek to ensure the best possible value for money for residents.
We also raise income by letting rooms in the OCR. Most of that money, however, is spent on maintaining and developing the hall.
There are several grant schemes where we can apply for grants to support projects that will benefit residents.
We publish annual accounts showing our income and expenditure. These can be found on our website.
We can award grants for a wide variety of activities.
